Inland Children's Chorus Collection

Abstract

The Inland Children’s Chorus was sponsored by the Inland Manufacturing Division of the General Motors Corporation from 1936-1970 and open to children (ages 8-16) of Inland employees. The Chorus was a unique contribution by American industry to young people, the community, and the performing arts. The collection includes programs from their concerts, photographs, books, newspaper and periodical clippings, certificates, and memorabilia all donated by former members of the Chorus.

International Union of Electrical Workers (IUE), District Council 7 Records

Abstract The collection consists of the papers of three men who were active in IUE District Council 7: E. J. Kraft, Wesley Steinhilber, and Robert Elsner. Within the Kraft and Steinhilber series is material concerning the split within the UE (Union of Electrical Workers) before and after its expulsion from the CIO. Local 775 represents the workers at the Chrysler Airtemp plant in Dayton, Ohio. The Ivan & The Sabers / The Lemon Pipers Collection contains materials collected by Ivan Browne (chiefly photographs and press cuttings) during his career as a musician with both bands. Ivan & The Sabers were a Dayton area rock band active from1961-1966. They opened for the Rolling Stones at Dayton's Hara Arena in 1964. The Lemon Pipers achieved international recognition with their 1968 number one single "Green Tambourine".
